I'd like to thank you all for a fabulous week of diving....it couldn't have been better. Your professionalism and service is superb....the best I've experienced from a dive shop in a very long time. A special thank you for setting up the dolphin dive....Genie (AKA SCUBA Mom) really enjoyed that one. I also want to thank Paul for his assistance througout the week as our dive master...it was truly a pleasure diving with him....always displays a positive attitiude. Thank you so much for making my 12th dive vacation in Roatan an unforgettable experience in May/June 2010! This was my first experience at Amonena Divers and I look forward to returning soon. Jean Paul, our Dive Master, was an absolute joy to share the Roatan reefs with. His professionalism, attention to safety, extensive knowledge of the dive sites, plus enthusiasm for new dive encounters; i.e. taking the time to look for and see new sealife brought additional "new eyes" to our dives. I have 2000+ dives. All divers on our dive boat continually commented on all the new and diverse experiences we were able to enjoy while diving with Jean Paul. Jean Paul even comented that he saw and experienced "new stuff" on almost every dive. He is also an excellent Dive Instructor; my newly certified OWD buddy (9/09)was certified as AOW during this 3-week stay. We will be back to dive with Anemona Divers on our next trip to Roatan. April 2010 was our second time diving with Anemona (we dove with them in Nov 08 - see below). We love this shop! Smaller boat, longer dives and great service. The staff are great - professional and fun. Can't wait to come back.
I highly recommend Anemona Divers to anyone looking for a diver operator in Roatan. I had a fabulous time diving with Dive Master Sergio at this operation in November, 2009. Also with the two lady Dive Masters. I am a new open water diver as of 9/09 with only 83 dives and this dive operation was very accomadating to me and other divers with lots of experience, too! I am planning to come back mid 4/10 to dive with them again as I had such a good experience the last time. I plan to get my PADI Advanced Open Water and Nitrox Certifications with Anemona Divers this trip and plan to dive for three weeks x 3 dives per day! I am from Southern California. Mauricio

We can't say enough of how we enjoyed our dives with Sara, Mari,Sergio, and Rico. The intamacy of the shop and dives were way beyond words. We had several dives over the week we were in Roatan and it was a sad day when we had to "bubble off" for our airplane ride home. We will be back next year for sure, and I know where we are going to make bubbles again- no question. Thanks again for the most enjoyable dive vacation we have ever had.
Mi marido y yo hicimos el curso de ADVANCE PADI con Anemona Divers. Sin lugar a dudas lo mejor para bucear! Nos sentimos muy comodos y seguros, los instructores estan muy bien capacitados. Son un grupo de Italianos y españoles que haran que tus buceos valgan la pena. A diferencia de otras casas de buceo que va mucha gente , aqui arman grupos pequeños con la gente de tu nivel y todo es muy personalizado. Es todo muy familiar. Maria Paz, Sergio, Sara , Rico y CHATA (la perra que a veces viene en la lancha a bucear!) forman un grupo divino y te hacen sentir uno mas de ellos. Imnperdible el buceo en barco hundido donde se ven meros (groupers) gigantes! y la west end wall. Recomiendo este lugar para hacer buceo. Se encuentra al lado del hotel las rocas casi en la punta de la playa.Vale la pena contactarlos.

I just returned from Roatan after a week of diving with these wonderful people. I was diving with my friends and we cannot express how much we enjoyed our diving experience with you. I have been recommending you to friends who may be going to Roatan in March . All of you there were very friendly and very professional. All of the equipment is very well maintained and worked well for all our dives. I would recommend you to anyone wishing to dive in Roatan. Your attention to detail is barr none. You need to be very proud of what you have accomplished in such a short time. I wish you all the best of luck in this great business. Hi, A couple of weeks ago you taught my girlfriend and I how to scuba dive for the first time. It was a GREAT experience, and thank you for all the pictures you took - they also came out good. I hope you are enjoying a warm and peaceful Christmas. I sent in a review of our Cruise to Cruise Critic and thought you might like to read the part they published about our day with you. I hope it brings more business your way. Enjoy being CEO's of a wonderful dive shop with the BEST Office anyone could dream of!!! In Roatan Honduras we wanted to go scuba diving although neither of us had done it before. The ship offered something but not enough people signed up and the trip was canceled. When we got off the ship we went to the information counter by the pier and the girl there said nothing like that was available. We then talked to someone else who told us to walk a little further and turn right to see all the available private excursions. We went to the last information booth on the left and the guy there (Mario) set us up with the GREATEST Dive Shop www.anemonadivers.com. He arranged the taxi to get us there and back and the dive for $99 each. I paid him and gave a white piece of paper to the dive shop to show we had already paid. We met the two women who run the Anemona Divers and had an incredible experience. These two women have their hearts and souls dedicated to sharing the joy of scuba diving with everyone. Even though I had never dived before we were given about 45 minutes of instruction and after proving we could clear our mask of water and retrieve our air hose if we lost it we were able to go diving. First at about 3 ft, then 5 ft, then 10 ft and finally at 20ft. Unless you looked up to see the surface right above you it felt like we were deep in the ocean. Sara always made sure we were OK by asking us to give her the OK sign and she took pictures of us and of what we saw (a sea turtle, lobster, and lots of beautifully colored fish). It was an incredible experience – Thank you again Sara!!

I can't say enough of Mari,Sara,Sergio, and Matt they are fantastic. I did my Advanced one year and just did some diving the following year. Both times I had a lot of great experiences and fun.

Hi! We did the discovery dive with Sara. It was the highlight of our cruise! It was the first ever scuba diving experience for the both of us but it will not be the last. We saw lobsters, a sea turtle, squid and many many fish. Sara was an excellent guide and we both felt very well taken care of. The beach is absolutely gorgeous at West Bay and the people were very friendly. We look forward to seeing you again the next time we are in Roatan. Thanks again Sara for a great dive!!

We had a wonderful time with all of you! To all reading this, our experience with Anemona Divers was excellent! My son, daughter and I all left as friends with the entire staff, hugs all around as we departed. The location is great, small groups make each dive personal, and Maria, Sara, Matthew and Aina were careful and extremely fun to dive with. I would highly recommend them for all beginner and intermediate divers. The sites were close, great dive briefs and the Captain (Biggie) was spot on for taking care of us. Thier location is great and doing your surface interval time back on the beach because the dive sites are so close makes for a great day. We arrived as customers and left as friends. We would strongly recommend Anemona Divers and West Bay to anyone visiting Roatan.

Como estas? Como van tus cosas? Que tal Anemona? Se nos extraña?
Hace casi una semana que llegue a Buenos Aires, nunca me costo tanto adaptarme nuevamente a lo cotidiano. Tal vez porque la pase muy bien en Roatan y en parte te lo debo a vos y a tu gente. Repito, cada vez que me preguntan como me fue, que tuvimos la fortuna de encontrarnos con personas fantasticas en la operadora. Esto que no es frecuente que ocurra cuando hay gente con objetivos tan diferentes, unos trabajando y otros tratando de divertirse.
Te cuento que me encantaria haber cenado hoy con ustedes, no me resigno a que las distancias nos separen.
Por estos lados los dias comienzan a ser mas cortos, más frios y humedos, los arboles pierden sus hojas, en fín todo se vuelve un poco mas nostalgioso y uno tambien. A esto hay que agregarle que es domingo por la noche, Boca empato con River y duermo solo. Sobrevivo gracias a que el viernes me voy a Cuba a bucear un par de semanas con unos amigos entre ellos Raul y Marcela (la rubia).
Me imagino que debes estar muy ocupada pero si puedes responderme para mi sera un gusto saber de vos y poder por este medio mantener la relacion.

Scuba diving was my biggest fear. I couldn't have asked for a more personalized and friendly dive center. They were efficient, fun and made me feel safe the entire time. Needless to say, after my first dive I was hooked. And it is clear by the passion and enthusiasm at Anemona that all the instructors love what they do.

Remembering that you are on an island off the coast of Central America, things do happen but Anemona Divers show a true caring to make the diving experience in Roatan as flexible and convenient as possible. Great Operator in RoatanJust returned from a week in Roatan. Wanted to let you know about our dive operator who is fairly new (as an owner, worked for others on the island previously.) Anemone Divers is located in West Bay by Fosters Resort. This is a smallish operation with great individualized service. The owners and all of the folks we met are all instructors. Owners Sophie and Mary Paz are delightful as are Sara and Sergio who work with them. We dove with all four during the course of the week and found them not only very competent but also delightful. We also observed their instruction with two Rescue diver candidates and an OW class with a family of four. They are meticulous in the attention to detail. We were able to plan our dives according to our wishes, not some pre-arranged schedule. While we all brought our own equipment I was able to observe that their rental stock is all relatively new, high quality and appears well maintained. Its a small boat operation so no cattle calls here. Since all dive operators in Roatan seem to charge identical rates its hard to imagine going off with one that does not provide the level of options and service that Anemone does. Bottom line--next trip I won\'t even consider shopping around, just e-mail Sophie with the dates.

Hi Sophie, Maria, and Serg! I just wanted to say thank you for showing me and being a part of the greatest adventure of my life. You guys were great and I appreciate the attention and proper training you all provided to me while doing my check out dives.
For those of you who are reading this review I want tell you that if you are going to Roatan to dive, then you need to go and see Anemona divers. They are great people and great instructors for all levels. Sophie pays extreme attention to proper training, Maria is tons of fun and loves the underwater world, and Serg... what can I say about Serge, he is simply the Zen master of diving as far as I'm concerned. If I didn't know better I'd say he was Aquaman. For any diver who wants to improve there skills, you should dive with Serg and you will see what I mean!
Their knowledge of the reef and dive sites is an advantage because they will know where to take you based upon your skill level and what you want to see. They also have a smaller boat, which keeps the dive group smaller, and more personal. They will feel like family by the end of your diving experience.
I will be back someday Sophie, Maria, and Serg. Until then, be well and dive, dive, dive!
